Professional FPV Best Practices

Charging:

Standard LiPo: Charge to 4.2V per cell maximum
HV LiPo: Charge to 4.35V per cell maximum (requires HV charger)
Always use professional-grade balance chargers appropriate for your battery type
Charge at 1C to 2C for optimal lifespan (faster charging available but reduces cycle life)
Store at proper storage voltage (3.8V per cell for standard, 3.85V for HV)
Never leave batteries fully charged for extended periods
Use parallel charging boards for efficiency when charging multiple packs

Flight Usage:

Verify flight controller and ESC compatibility before using HV batteries
Land when voltage reaches 3.5V per cell under load (3.7V resting)
Avoid flying in extreme temperatures (below 0°C or above 45°C)
Allow batteries to cool completely between flights
Monitor voltage during flight using OSD or telemetry
Standard: Discharge to 3.0V per cell minimum (resting voltage)
HV: Discharge to 3.0V per cell minimum (resting voltage)
Track cycle count and performance for each pack

Storage and Safety:

Store in LiPo-safe bags or fireproof containers (mandatory for high-C batteries)
Keep in cool, dry location away from flammable materials
Inspect before every flight for damage, swelling, or punctures
Use storage mode on charger if not flying within 2-3 days
Dispose of damaged batteries properly at designated recycling centers
Never fly with damaged or swollen batteries
Label batteries with purchase date and cycle count

Performance Optimization:

Break in new batteries with 3-5 gentle flights before extreme use
Rotate battery usage to ensure even wear across your pack collection
Track cycle count and performance to identify aging batteries
Match battery C-rating to your flight style and quad power requirements
Use battery voltage alarms and telemetry for optimal performance
Retire batteries from competition use after performance degradation
